With the upcoming summer months, there is plenty of activities for young adults and young families to enjoy around Edmond. Experience a day at Arcadia Lake or an evening of live music in Downtown Edmond. Here are some summer fun ideas:

Arcadia Lake: Located east of I-35 on Route 66, Arcadia Lake is a great way to spend a weekend in Edmond. Arcadia Lake is home to hiking and biking trails, fishing holes, campgrounds, picnic tables. Check out the UCO Boathouse for kayaks, canoes, standup paddleboards, and mountain bikes for rental and individual or group instruction.

A Day in Downtown Edmond: Spend a day in Downtown Edmond beginning with breakfast at Sunnyside Diner, Around the Corner Café or by grabbing a coffee or tea from one of the three coffee shops. Window shop up and down Broadway at local businesses such as Commonplace Books, Lulu & Lo’s Boutique and many more. Grad lunch at the Railyard or the Icehouse Project, the two food halls in Edmond. After lunch, explore the public art bronze statues and murals that are all over Downtown Edmond. Cool off with some sweets from Cities Ice Cream, Railyard Pie or Sara’s Sweets. In the evening, experience live music on the weekends at Frenzy, Round Midnight or the Patriarch.

Festivals and Events: Summer in Edmond is full of annual festivals and events. Monthly events include Edmond Bike Night on the first Tuesday, VIBES: Edmond’s First Thursday Art Walk, Heard on Hurd occurs on the third Saturday. Some events that occur every week is the Concert in the Park series at Hafer Park on Thursday evenings and the outdoor Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. LibertyFest events will begin in the month of June and lead into the annual 4th of July celebration.

Indoor Fun: Summer in Edmond can also be experienced indoors. Here are some fun ways to beat the summer heat: a night of board games at Edmond Unplugged, see a movie at ShowBiz Cinemas or Icon Cinemas or tryout axe throwing at Urban Tomahawk.
