Edmond Chamber Ribbon Cutting Best Practices

One of the most exciting moments for a business is celebrating an important milestone, and the Edmond Chamber would be delighted to celebrate with you!

Whether you’re celebrating a grand opening, new location, expansion, anniversary, or another exciting milestone, a ribbon cutting is a great way to introduce your business to the community and celebrate with your customers, friends, family, and fellow Chamber members.

Ready to Schedule Your Ribbon Cutting?

To schedule your ribbon cutting, please complete the ribbon cutting request form on the Edmond Chamber website. We ask that this form is submitted at least two weeks in advance of the event.

When you submit the form, you’ll provide:

  • Your business location
  • Three preferred dates and times
  • A description of your business and the milestone you’re celebrating

Your business description is especially important! The information you provide helps our team prepare promotional materials, including a press release that will be distributed to local media following your ribbon cutting.

The more details you can provide, the better we can help promote your business!

Preferred Ribbon Cutting Hours

Our preferred ribbon cutting hours are:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00–11:30 a.m.

Ribbon cuttings are not scheduled on weekends.

What to Expect on the Day of Your Ribbon Cutting

Our Chamber staff will arrive approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled ribbon cutting time to help get everything ready.

Following our staff’s arrival, Chamber Ambassadors will begin arriving to celebrate your business with you.

You are also encouraged to invite your family, friends, customers, clients, employees, and business partners to attend. The more people you invite, the more exciting the celebration will be!

A Few Tips to Help You Prepare

Have your team ready to celebrate.
Your ribbon cutting is a great opportunity to introduce your team and put faces to your business. Consider having employees available to greet guests and participate in the celebration.

Invite your network.
Be sure to personally invite customers, clients, friends, family, vendors, business neighbors and other business contacts. You can also promote the event on your own social media channels and through email.

Consider having a few words prepared.
Many businesses choose to briefly thank their guests, employees, customers, and supporters and share a little about their business or what the milestone means to them after we cut the ribbon.

Don’t forget the photos!
Our team will help capture the celebration, but you’re also welcome to have someone from your team take photos and video throughout the event.
