Renewing For The Future

Vote YES, Edmond: Renewing For The Future

On November 18, Edmond voters will have the opportunity to renew two important 10-year sales taxes that help fund essential city services and infrastructure:

  • Renewal of the One-Cent General Fund Sales Tax – Funds city operations, police, and fire
  • Renewal of the ½ Cent Capital Improvement Project Sales Tax – Dedicated to fund road improvements and repairs to improve traffic

The one-cent general fund sales tax has been approved every 10 years by voters since 1977. The 1/2-cent CIP sales tax was approved by votes in 2016 for capital improvement projects.

These taxes, set to expire in March 2027, are critical for maintaining Edmond’s quality of life and supporting the city’s continued growth. Renewal ensures that Edmond can continue investing in safe streets, well-maintained roads, and strong community services. In the metro area, Edmond has the lowest sales tax rate at 8.25% with most other communities above 8.5%.
