Sherry Jordan

Sherry is the President and Chief Executive Officer for the Edmond Chamber of Commerce.  Sherry was promoted to this position in 2016 and has served in several roles during her 14 years at the Edmond Chamber.  Sherry has been the leader for the Chamber’s accreditation process in 2005, 2010 and 2015 which culminated in a 5 star rating.  While there are over 7,000 chambers in the US, the Edmond Chamber is one of only 105 chambers to achieve this rating.

Sherry is an alumnus of the University of Oklahoma and has been a certified public accountant for over 25 years.  Sherry was named as one of the 50 Women Making a Difference in Oklahoma by the Journal Record in 2017.  Sherry joined the Edmond Women’s Club in 2005 and celebrated her 10th anniversary with club by serving as its 33rd president in 2016.  In 2015 Sherry was named as the Outstanding Chamber Leader of the Year by the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives.  Sherry is a graduate of Leadership Edmond Class 27 and is actively involved in their alumni events.  In 2007 Sherry was honored as one of the top 100 influential women in the history of the City of Edmond.

Sherry and her husband Brad have been married for 29 years.  They have 2 daughters who both graduated from Edmond Public Schools.  Sherry and Brad love to travel and are planning a 30th anniversary trip to France.

She moved to Edmond in 2004 from Denver because her husband went to work for Kerr McGee. Sherry’s favorite part about living in Edmond is that the chamber, the city, Edmond public schools and the University of Central Oklahoma all work well together and collaborate on projects to get things done in our city. She enjoys working for the Chamber because she gets to connect people in order to help them be more successful.

Sherry’s favorite local restaurant is Signature Grill.  It is an independently owned upscale fine dining restaurant with an intimate atmosphere.  All of their food is excellent, but Sherry’s favorite is their grilled beef tenderloin with smoked blue cheese and cabernet wine reduction. When asked who she would choose to have dinner with, Sherry said “My younger self.  Forget eating.  I’d spend all dinner dropping knowledge and wisdom on my younger self and avoid making the mistakes I had to endure.” And if money were no longer necessary she would probably keep working at the chamber because she loves it!  “The more important question is what would I buy???”  My husband and I love to travel, so they would probably go to Australia and New Zealand for an extended visit!

Amanda Bowen

Amanda Bowen is the Director of Leadership Programs.  She started at the Chamber in August of 2007 as Director of Events and Programs.  She grew up in Edmond and has lived in Edmond all her life except for her time away while she attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration.  Edmond is home.  She lives in Edmond with her husband Cole and two daughters Paisley and Landri.

She loves Edmond because of the wonderful schools, great quality of life and people who care about the community.  Amanda has wanted to work for a Chamber of Commerce since she did a senior project in college for the Shawnee Chamber and Visitors Bureau.  She truly loves working in the Chamber world. She enjoys meeting all the members and directing the leadership programs.  “It’s exciting to have a program that helps develop the leaders in the Edmond community,” Amanda said, “we work alongside so many great organizations including the city, schools and local nonprofits in helping residents realize what a great community they live in and how they can get involved in the community and make a difference. With our Youth Leadership Program, we help them realize that Edmond is a wonderful community.”

Amanda loves hamburgers at Earls and chicken fingers at Bricktown Brewery.  If she could eat dinner with anyone, it would be her grandmothers (one of which died before she was born), Lysa Terkeurst (Christian author), Jenna Bush Hager and Queen Elizabeth.  If money weren’t an option, she wouldn’t change anything, but would spend more time with her family on beaches and traveling.

Savannah Barrington

Savannah Barrington is the Director of Events and Programs at the Edmond Chamber. She started at the Chamber in 2016 as the Coordinator of Special Events and Small Business after graduating from Oklahoma State University. Since starting at the Chamber, Savannah has worked to modernize events and cut costs to increase attendance and profits. This past year she also undertook the Chamber’s 11th Total Resources Campaign and completed the campaign nearly $40,000 over goal. Originally from Abilene, Texas Savannah now calls Edmond and Oklahoma home with her fiancé Tyler and their black lab puppy Scout.

The job at the Chamber was really what brought Savannah to live in Edmond; that, and her desire to be closer to Stillwater, friends and her fiancé who was already living here. The best part about living here is that while Edmond is a large city, when you are involved and connected to the community it can feel like a small town where everyone knows each other. Working for the Chamber provides opportunities to make connections and share those connections with chamber members.

Savannah’s favorite local restaurant is The Heat. When she’s there, she orders the Meat Lovers Deep Dish Pizza. When asked who she would have dinner with, dead or alive, the answer took a lot of thought, but she chose Andy Warhol, Kurt Cobain, Shania Twain, and author Jeannette Walls. If money were no longer a consideration Savannah would spend her days with friends on a lake or at a beach somewhere soaking up the sunshine.  She would also be fine with a never ending game day in Stillwater with a 7:00pm kickoff and a W for the Pokes.

Britni Evans

Britni Evans is the Office Manager of the Edmond Chamber of Commerce. She started in March of 2018 but is a returning employee from 2010 to 2012. Since starting at the Chamber, she ensures that the office operates efficiently, manages the database and also controls all invoicing done by the chamber. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her husband Kyle, son Knox, kitten Ronald Weasley, beta fish chubby chomps and dog Cal.

Britni’s parents moved her to Edmond when she was eight years old. After brief stints in both Stillwater and Norman, Britni returned to Edmond and has enjoyed living here since. She loves the Edmond community because of the safe feeling and the art around town. She enjoys working with the people at the Chamber and says, “I have known Sherry for about eight years and I couldn’t pick a better person to work for.” Interurban is one of Britni’s go to spots. She loves everything they have but if she had to pick one meal it would be the Dixieland bowtie pasta with a house salad and Linda’s dressing. She would choose Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain, and William Shakespeare to have dinner with if she could choose anyone. And if money were no longer a necessity Britni would travel all the time with her family.

Brittany Willison

As the chamber’s Director of Communications and Marketing, Brittany Willison is responsible for publications, social media, the website, ribbon cuttings/groundbreakings, internal and external communications and all marketing efforts. She’s also the liaison for Edmond Young Professionals which is an organization comprised of professionals, age 21-40, living and working in the Edmond area. Originally from Owasso, Brittany now calls Edmond home with her husband, Matt, and dog, Avery.

A leadership scholarship at the University of Central Oklahoma brought Brittany to Edmond more than six years ago. She loves living in Edmond because while the city is already great, it’s always working to become even better. Which is why she loves her job at the chamber so much, it’s fun to be connected to the people who are helping Edmond thrive. Every day there is something new and exciting happening and she loves being a part of it. Brittany is a part of Leadership Edmond Class 34, which means she is currently going through the program. Brittany serves as the vice president for the Cedar Ridge Home Owners Association and as a volunteer in the kids ministry at Frontline Church Edmond.

Of all the places to eat in Edmond, Rocky Mountain Grill is her favorite; she orders bacon, eggs and hash browns every time.  If she could have dinner with any four individuals, living or dead, she would choose George W. Bush, Yvon Chouinard, Princess Diana and John Wayne. If money were no object she would travel the world and give it away.

Karla Docter

Karla Docter is a young professional that strives to make the community a better place through economic growth and volunteerism. Karla has been involved with the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce since 2014 as a member, and shortly thereafter became a volunteer on the Edmond Young Professionals Steering Committee and Special Events Committee. She currently gets to serve as their Membership Director, which recruits and connects local businesses to the people and resources they need for a thriving, successful business.

Karla graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 2005, Leadership Edmond, Class XXXI in 2016, and Leadership Oklahoma City's LOYAL Program, Class XIII in 2018. Karla has a mission to inspire and empower others to create the life and business they deserve. She was named by the Journal Record 2017 as a "Woman Making a Difference", 2015 an "Achiever Under 40" and by the Business Times "21 Leaders for the 21st Century". In her “spare” time she volunteers and participates with many organizations including: YWCA Oklahoma City, Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma, Habitat for Humanity, and the Oklahoma City Women's Networking Social.

Since she moved away from Milwaukee over a decade ago, she has made Edmond home and is living her dream with her husband Ben, 90 pound American Bulldog, and a baby coming early 2019!

Karla and her husband chose Edmond to plant their roots because it is a safe, growing community that they could see themselves raising children in. Her favorite part about living in Edmond is that it is close enough to the “city” and yet far enough away to connect with nature, witness amazing sunsets and a clear dark sky to stargaze at night. When asked what she most enjoys about working for the Chamber Karla said, “Besides working with an incredible leader and team, I get to help others, which is what I am all about. I love being able to help recruit and connect local businesses to the resources and people they need to operate a thriving business, while enhancing the community!”

Karla claims to be a foodie, so picking a favorite restaurant and meal was difficult. She absolutely loves Hidalgo’s, their set up comes with homemade flour tortillas, chips, queso, salsa, and a variety of other dips. Her favorite meal is the Guiso Especial, with stew meat, jalapeños, onions, avocado and two fried eggs. She also loves going to Othello’s where she typically orders the Chicken Parmigiana (with the pink sauce) or Greg’s Lasagna Suprema, it’s delizioso!

Karla would pick Maya Angelou, Marilyn Monroe, Ellen DeGeneres and P!nk if she could choose anyone to have dinner with. And, if money were no longer a consideration Karla said, “When I’m not traveling to each continent, zip lining through the rainforest, relaxing on the beach, visiting family and friends, and going to concerts, I would continue to work and/or volunteer to inspire and empower others to live their best life, and help them connect the dots from where they are now in life and business – to where they want to be!”
