The Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce’s eighth annual New Teacher Reception will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Oak Tree Country Club from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. The goal of this reception is to give the Edmond business community an opportunity to welcome new teachers and their spouses. New teachers from Edmond and Deer Creek Public Schools, the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma Christian University and Francis Tuttle Technology Center are invited to attend.

"The reception helps a new teacher feel a part of the district, a part of the community and lets them know that they are valued and appreciated." said Randy Decker, Executive Director of Human Resources for Edmond Public Schools. “Edmond Schools appreciates its partnership with the Edmond Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber’s efforts to welcome our new teachers.”

The reception is presented by Francis Tuttle Technology Center. Silver Sponsors are The Edmond Sun and Liberty Mutual Insurance. Bronze Sponsors are Wal-Mart Super Center – I-35, Center for Education Law and Smart Technologies. Patron Sponsors are Atlas General Contractors and Summit Business Systems.

This is a free event for teachers and their spouses or significant others. The cost is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members. Teachers may RSVP by calling the Chamber at 405.341.2808. Chamber members may RSVP online at
