Meet the 2022 EYP Advisory Board

EYP Board Blog and Social

Posted by Kristen King on 02/07/2022

EYP is run by an outstanding group of young professionals in the Edmond Area that serve on our EYP Advisory Board. You have probably seen some of these friendly faces at different EYP events. Our board encompasses a variety of different industries in the Edmond community.

The goal of our EYP Advisory Board is to collaborate to plan the different events, topics, and opportunities that we offer to EYP members.

Board Members were asked two questions and some of the responses are included below. Their responses fully encompass the goals and initiatives of Edmond Young Professionals.

Q: What is your favorite part of EYP?

A: ”I have two favorite parts to EYP. First, is of course, the great connections and friendships that you get to make with other young people in the professional community. It is so fun to know people around my age in various industries and that are employed in different places throughout Edmond! My second favorite part is attending events like Leadership Lattes where we get to learn from those that have come before us and exemplify what being a leader in your community or industry looks like. I always take away great nuggets from these events to implement in my life and career.” – Savannah Whitehead, Edmond Fine Arts Institute

A: “My favorite part about EYP is getting to learn from a variety of industry and community leaders that are making a difference in Edmond and beyond. Hearing from these leaders through our Education Luncheons and Leadership Lattes, networking with them at our Lunch Bunches, and serving their missions in our community service efforts are invaluable experiences.” – Cassidhe Walker, 2022 Chairwoman of the EYP Board, UCO – Endeavor Games

A: “One of my favorite parts of EYP is getting to get to learn new things about Edmond and the members of our community! I’ve met a lot of great contacts through EYP that have really broaden my social and professional network!” – Courtney Bradford, City of Edmond

Q: Why did you choose to be on the EYP Advisory Board?

A: “It is important to engage today’s young professionals and help provide them with opportunities to continue to develop into the leaders they want to be. I just have a passion to help other in any way that I can and being on the EYP Board gives me that chance.” – Shane Luebbers-Jones, Michelle Early Farmers Insurance

A:  “I choose to be on the EYP Advisory Board because I wanted to be part of the collaborative decision making for an organization that I am passionate about. Diversity of thought is vital, especially in organizations like ours, so I wanted to bring my perspective to the table in hopes of advancing the organization.” -Cassidhe Walker, Chairwoman of the Board, UCO – Endeavor Games

A: “I joined EYP for two reasons. First, I knew that as a younger professional I needed more exposure to peers outside of my normal circle to broaden my knowledge and understanding of what is going on in the Edmond community. You hear it said to never stop learning in your professional journey and being exposed to other successful young professionals and many of the successful speakers that EYP hosts is the best regular avenue I know of to continue to grow professionally. The second reason was that I wanted to give back. If you live and/or work in Edmond, then you get to experience its tremendous economy. If I could give back in some way to the community that I have benefitted so much from, then sign me up!” – Chris Codding, Regent Bank

A: “I joined EYP because I believe in the mission of EYP of striving to become a leader for the betterment of the Edmond community, which involves exchanging ideas. Too often we get stuck in our organization’s silos, but EYP provides a way to connect with others in diverse fields and backgrounds. I feel honored to be able to serve this community in both my job and on this board.” -Nicole Koehn, Edmond Electric
