Matthew Boydstun

Matthew Boydstun

Services Manager at Neptune Society

Matthew R. “Matt” Boydstun was raised north of Seminole, Oklahoma. He moved to the Edmond area to attend Oklahoma Christian University in 2000 and has remained ever since. He obtained bachelor’s degrees from Oklahoma Christian and the University of Central Oklahoma. He has served the Edmond area as a funeral director for over 14 years. Currently, he is the Services Manager / Funeral Director at Neptune Society, a non-traditional, cremation-focused funeral home at 33rd and Broadway. He and his team make cremation simple and affordable, both when a death has occurred and for those who wish to preplan and take that burden off their loved ones.

Matt is a highly active member of the Edmond Chamber. He has been on the Board of Advisors, Leadership Edmond Alumni advisory board, and Edmond Young Professionals council. He volunteers on the Total Resource Campaign and as an ambassador. He was named Volunteer of the Year in 2017 and Young Professional of the Year in 2020. He’s excited to lend his talents (such as they are) to support the Chamber as they support the Edmond community.

Matt is married to Sarah and they have three children; Niko (5), Hoyt (3), and Renn (newborn). They are members of the Memorial Road Church of Christ.

Matt doesn’t have a lot of dance experience—mostly it’s dancing with his kids at home in the living room—but he did do some “chorography” as part of his several performances in musicals and operas at Oklahoma Christian.

If he has a heart attack on the dance floor, feel free to use this as his obituary.

  • If you were to pick one song to describe you as a person, what song would you choose? In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel.

  • What famous celebrity would you play your character in your life’s movie? Kermit the Frog, although I look more like Corey Stoll.

  • Share one interesting fact with the public that they may not know about you? I performed in musicals and operas when I was in college at Oklahoma Christian University.

  • What is your “signature dance move?” I have been known to shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake my booty, shake my booty, on occasion; mostly at home when dancing with my boys.

  • What are you most look forward to about the Edmond’s Dancing with the Stars event and supporting the Edmond Chamber of Commerce? Everyone knows I’m a big fan of the Edmond Chamber and like to be involved in any ways possible. I’m excited to lend my incredible talents to elevate the level entertainment at this event. Basically, I can’t say no to Sherry.
