Adopt-a-School
Pilot Program
The Adopt-a-School program’s first adoption matched OU Medical Center Edmond with Orvis Risner Elementary School. This match will be monitored by the Education Council to identify the strengths and weaknesses of this pilot adoption and make changes to improve the program.
Currently, this match is going very well and the pilot program has moved on with another school.
The Adopt-a-School Program’s matched Arvest Bank, with Northern Hills. This match began in 2011.
The Adopt-a-School program’s adoption matched Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc with Will Rogers Elementary School. This match began in September 2009.
The Adopt-a-School program is designed to focus on specific needs in the Edmond Public Schools system. The Adopt-a-School program gives area businesses the opportunity to adopt an Edmond school with the purpose of providing volunteer and economic support throughout the year. The program may include tutoring and mentoring, outdoor education, extra curricular programs and monetary support.
