Edmond Chamber President to Retire

Posted by Zoe Pike on 06/27/2016

After 9 ½ years as President and CEO of the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce, Ken Moore informed the Chamber’s board of directors of his plans to step aside. “I still love coming to work every day, have a great staff to work with and a supportive leadership team”, said Moore. “I’ve been involved in leading chambers of commerce in five different states for 47 years, so I’ve decided to take a break from the day to day activities I’m used to. While there is no ideal time to leave, our programs are solid, the chamber is in good financial shape and we achieved our goal of becoming a “5 Star Accredited Chamber”.  I plan to remain in Edmond and stay actively involved in the community”.

A committee will be formed to find Moore’s replacement. “The Board is extremely grateful and appreciative for the service and leadership Ken has provided to the Chamber and the Edmond community over the last 9 1/2 years. Though very tough shoes to fill, the search committee is dedicated to finding the right leader to move us forward in the continued growth and success of our organization,” commented Angie Johnson, Chairwoman of the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce. Moore has agreed to remain at the chamber until his successor is named.
