Dr. David Goin Wins Edmond Chamber 2013 Citizen of the Year
The Edmond Chamber is proud to announce the winner of the Citizens Bank of Edmond’s Citizen of the Year Award is Dr. David Goin, Edmond Public Schools. Dr.Goin’s has demonstrated excellence by receiving numerous professional awards bringing acclaim to Edmond. He is a member and active in the Edmond Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Edmond, O.U. Medical Center, Edmond Community Council and UCO’s President’s Advisory Council.
Dr. Goin has previously served on the University of Oklahoma’s Rainbolt College of Education, Board of Advocates and as a Trustee of the Edmond Economic Development Authority. His professional honors include the Edmond Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Community leader in 2005, O.U. Rainbolt College of Education “Hall of Fame”, OASA OK School Administrator of the year 2008, OK Music Educators Association Oklahoma Administrator of the year in 2009 and recipient of the IID Education Award in 2011.
The Citizen of the Year must demonstrate one or more of the following: excellence in their business or profession, brought state or national acclaim to the City of Edmond, been involved in activities for the betterment of Edmond or served through involvement with civic and service organizations. Nominations are sent to a panel of judges who decide the winner.
