chirps & cheers
Located in downtown Edmond at the corner of Broadway and Hurd since 2009, this shop is filled with big ideas for correspondence needs. Their shelves are stocked with cards, boxed notes and custom stationary albums along with lovely journals, sophisticated office accessories and wrapping essentials. Helping their customers make an impression is what they are all about. They get excited about the creative choice they have to offer and want clients to feel inspired to send a card, celebrate an event or give a gift. The chirps & cheers vision is to provide a meticulously curated collection of unique products coupled with unmatched customer service in a clean, friendly environment.
Madeline’s Flower Shop
Madeline’s Flowers opened in 1950 by Madeline Graham; Sixty-three years later it remains in the same location and is proudly operated by her daughter and granddaughters. They offer custom floral arrangements for any occasion and carry other products including candies, botanicals and home décor. Beginning with just 2 employees in 1950, Madeline’s Flower Shop now has around 14 employees, with more help during the holidays. Madeline’s Flowers is very proud of being in business for so many years and hopes to continue being in business for many more. Through continued education, they seek to continue to create unusual and unique floral designs.
Millie Shores purchased the Edmond Franchise, Super Suppers, a meal assembly company. Four years later the decision was made to veer away from the franchise and expand on the catering arm of the business; the company was named Millie’s Table. They maintain a take-n-bake freezer and offer buffet style as well as service-focused catering, at a fair price. A healthy menu selection of 22 entrees is always available, along with 12 other featured entrees. As their catering continues to grow, the store has been reconfigured to expand the kitchen, still leaving plenty of room for small gatherings. The biggest challenge for Millie’s Table is that the consumer has a difficult time relating their service as a part of their grocery budget and not their eating-out budget. They are working on changing that perception one meal at a time.
Red Rock Consulting
Red Rock Consulting is a woman-owned engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering. Their success is accredited to their team members, from the subcontract drillers and laboratory technicians to the engineers and office. They would never be where they are today without the hard work and collaboration of each person involved. The management style at Red Rock is to lead by example and to never forget what it is like to be in each employee’s position. Their clients know them personally and know they will always be there to help. The strategic vision of Red Rock Consulting is to be large enough to provide everything their clients need, but stay small enough to keep the advantages of a small business.
