Chamber Announces Arvest Bank's Small Business of the Year Finalists
The finalists for Arvest Bank’s 2014 Small Business of the Year have been announced. The finalists are: Arledge & Associates, P.C., Back40 Design and Best of Books.
The Small Business of the Year Award honors businesses that have made significant growth and outstanding contributions to the economy and the overall progress of the Edmond community. Applicants were judged on business growth and performance, business strategies and innovation, business challenges and competitiveness and community involvement and contribution. The winner will be announced at the Annual Awards Banquet on January 23, 2015.
Arledge & Associates
John M. Arlege, CPA, founded Arledge & Associates in 1983. Since then, the firm has grown from one CPA to its current 20+ member professional team. The firm provides auditing, accounting, advisory, and tax services. The firm currently performs audit work for more than 30 cities in Oklahoma, including the City of Edmond. The firm stands as the largest public accounting firm in Edmond and the 10th largest in the metro area.
Back40 Design started building websites as a two-person operation of David and Sandy Miller. Back40 has now been designing websites for 14 years and publishing Outlook Magazine for 10 years. They have built websites and designed marketing projects for a variety of industries, organizations and events. Their team of 18 employees strives to provide fresh ideas, perspectives and interaction with every client.

For 30 years, Best of Books has been a well-known name in the community because of their commitment to customer service, knowledge of products and willingness to help schools and nonprofits. New owners Joe, Nan, and Elena Hight have returned home to Edmond to maintain this institution as a family business. The Hights have sought to continue the traditions that have contributed to their company’s success. Best of Books is a personal connection, a next door neighbor and a calling for people who want to enrich their lives through reading or love to shop local and keep their money in this great community.
