			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>EDMOND, OK – The Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Women’s Network Breakfast will be from 7:30 &#8211; 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at River Oaks Golf Club. The breakfast will feature Lori Engel with Ultimate Challenge – Ultimate HR. Engel’s discussion will have humorous refreshers on the dos and don’ts of business etiquette, touching on topics of business meetings and meals, office attire, cubicle courtesy and of course, email etiquette!</p>
<p>The breakfast is presented by OU Medical Center Edmond and the gold host sponsor is First United Bank Mortgage Company and silver sponsor, Michelle Schaefer – Farmer’s Insurance.</p>
<p>The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. which includes a networking activity. The formal program will start at 8 a.m.</p>
<p>The Women’s Network Breakfasts take place on the fourth Thursday of every month. It is a great opportunity to meet business women. This event features programs and speakers specifically tailored to women in business. These breakfasts are a fun and beneficial networking activity open to Chamber members and their guests.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>EDMOND, OK – Members of the Edmond Young Professionals will help build Legacy Station on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Legacy Station is a community of 13 homes right off of Broadway between Edwards and Thatcher, is being built through a partnership with the City of Edmond, Turning Point Ministries and Habitat for Humanity. This is one of the first Habitat builds in Edmond!</p>
<p>EYP volunteers will get to choose between framing a house and working on the interior of another house.  Any EYP volunteers that have a pair of work gloves are asked to bring those as well. Lunch will be provided to volunteers.</p>
<p>Charleston&#8217;s &#8211; Edmond and Lowe&#8217;s Home Improvement Warehouse &#8211; North Edmond are providing t-shirts to EYP participants! Those interested in volunteering should contact Amanda Bowen at 341.2808 or <a href="mailto:abowen@edmondchamber.com">abowen@edmondchamber.com</a>.</p>
<p>Edmond Young Professionals (EYP) focuses on three areas: networking, education and community service. <p>Suited for Success helps low income women achieve self sufficiency by providing them with a suit/outfit for job interviews to get back on their feet.  If you are interested in making a difference, please bring clean interview-appropriate clothing, slightly worn shoes, jewelry or new hosiery.  Bring your suits to this month&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Network Breakfast. Suited for Success needs small sizes (0-4) and larger sizes (12+).</p>

<p>Kim Holland is the first woman elected Insurance Commissioner in Oklahoma state history.  She was elected on November 7, 2006 after having been appointed by Governor Brad Henry in January 2005 to fill an unexpired term. In her career as Insurance Commissioner, Commissioner Holland restored the integrity of the Insurance Department by bringing honesty and her vision of creating a completely transparent department for all Oklahomans. A business woman and active civic volunteer before becoming Insurance Commissioner, Holland has a proven track record of consumer advocacy over more than two decades as an insurance professional.</p>

The Chamber’s Golf Committee currently has only a few teams available along with several sponsorships. The 2010 tournament is presented by Mercy Health.</p>
<p>A four person team is $600 which includes: a provided company sign on a hole which a company representative can sit at, four players in the tournament, two raffle tickets per player and the company featured in promotional materials developed by the Chamber for the program, including the Chamber’s e-news and website.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>EDMOND, OK – The Edmond Young Professionals will host an educational luncheon on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the University of Central Oklahoma Nigh University Center from 11:30 – 1 p.m. The luncheon will feature Mike Fina, Chief of Staff for Jari Askins and Mayor of Piedmont and Michael Carnuccio, President of the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs. Both are young professionals and very active in the political world.</p>
<p>The topic for the luncheon will be Politics for Dummies – How you can make a difference by being an informed voter. Attendees must RSVP online at www.edmondchamber.com. The cost is $10 and will go up to $12 within 48 hours.</p>
<p>Edmond Young Professionals are presented by Mo Anderson &#8211; Keller Williams and gold host, University of Central Oklahoma.<br />
Edmond Young Professionals (EYP) focus on three areas: networking, education and service. EYP has regular events which provide networking opportunities, quarterly education workshops, and community service projects.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>EDMOND, OK – The next Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon has been set for Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Oak Tree Country Club from 11:30 -1 p.m. The luncheon will feature Mark Herrin, Assistant Vice President of Wellness &amp; Sport at UCO discussing the 2010 World Sitting Volleyball Tournament at the University of Central Oklahoma.</p>
<p>This tournament has only been held in the United States one other time and will be held at the UCO Hamilton Field House July 11-18. The tournament will bring over 600 athletes from over 20 countries to compete for the 2010 Worlds Champion.
