Each week, EYP recognizes new members in the organization. This group is constantly growing and changing and we love bringing in new members and fresh ideas! This week, we are excited to welcome Michael Hart with American Fidelity, Abigail Marr at UCO, Braden Merritt with The Humphreys Company and Joshua Toney with RCB Bank.

Michael Hart, American Fidelity

Tell us a little bit about yourself
I'm an original Okie who has lived in AR, CO, MI, since graduating college and now back in Edmond. I'm married to the love of my life and truly better half, Morgan.  We have an amazing, wild, determined, smart, funny, and beautiful 18-month-old daughter named Becklynn.  When I'm not traveling, you find me with my family or hunting.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
I love that after a long day of work or travel I can sit back and admire some of the best sunsets in the world (because we are so flat).

What is your typical work day like?
HaHa - best question ever. Two-three days most weeks I'm somewhere West of Oklahoma managing our brokerage division for American Fidelity. I love what I do because everyday is something new and I get to bring the benefits of AFA to the masses.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
It might sound sappy but I can't live without "FaceTime" because it's what allows me to see my wife and daughter when I'm traveling all over the country.

Abigail Marr, UCO Student

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a senior at UCO, where I have attended for all of my undergrad. I have worked for the past two years at Charleston's Restaurant-Edmond, as a server and most recently a bartender, which has strengthened my people skills and allowed me to make very meaningful connections. I would describe myself as a busy body, someone who likes to accomplish things, and move onto the next task (taking experience and knowledge from these tasks of course).

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
I have lived in Oklahoma my entire life, and what I love most is that we have the pleasure of experiencing all four seasons. Just when you think its unbearably hot outside, we get a cold front bringing in the fall season, and the holidays. I love knowing what to expect next, but I am also a fan of (healthy) change, just as the four seasons offer us.

What is your typical work day like?
As a full time student, I typically attend classes most of the day, studying and doing homework between classes, staying organized and staying busy. On the days I do not have class I generally work "a double" which is two shifts at Charleston's (AM & PM). This would be a lot harder if I didn't enjoy my job as much as I do.

What is one thing you can't live without?
One thing I could not live without is coffee, silly I know, but I wake up every morning looking forward to my first of about three cups a day. For me, it's a cup of motivation and a treat all in one. When I'm doing homework, I'm drinking coffee. When I'm about to go in for my second shift of the day, I prepare with a cup of coffee. I study with it, I meditate with it, it's basically my best friend (haha not really).

Braden Merritt, The Humphreys Company

Tell us a little bit about yourself
Originally from Edmond, I left home for the U.S. Naval Academy and then began a career as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, including combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and at sea with the U.S. 5th Fleet. I’ve since added some education, I’ve worked for Google, The Boston Consulting Group, and am now with The Humphreys Company in OKC.  With my lovely wife, Alissa, and our three daughters, we are so glad to be settled in Edmond once again!

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
I love the people in Oklahoma, and I’m especially grateful for the community of Frontline Church in Edmond.

What is your typical work day like?
I work within our private equity team at The Humphreys Company, where I focus on relationships with current and future partners.

What is one thing you can't live without?
I can’t live without my Moleskine pocket notebook and Skillcraft B3 Aviator pen. If I’m wearing a jacket, they’re always in the left-inner pocket.

Joshua Toney, RCB Bank

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am from Seminole, OK. I attended Seminole State College & Oklahoma Christian University. I have been in banking since 2011. I am a twin, like the Cubs, and a huge football fan.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
I enjoy the helping mentality of Oklahoma and Oklahomans, through good and bad times, it seems we always join together to help.

What is your typical work day like?
My typical work day is usually a lot of phones, emails, and meetings about terms and options to best suit loan opportunities in the community.

What is one thing you can't live without?
One thing I cannot live without is ESPN.
