Each week, EYP recognizes new members in the organization. This group is constantly growing and changing and we love bringing in new members and fresh ideas! This week, we are excited to welcome Mackenzie Edgeman with Hello Love Salon, Raychelle Hutson with Regent Bank Nick James with Synergy Insurance Services, Jared Prince with the City of Edmond and Taylor York with the Edmond YMCA.

Mackenzie Edgeman, Hello Love Salon

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I own Hello Love Salon and Boutique in downtown Edmond we just opened August 16th. I've been married to my husband Casey Edgeman for 2 years and we have a 1 year old son Grey. I have always dreamed of owning my own salon, I'm from Ohio I just moved here 3 years ago so I pictured this all happening in Ohio but I'm so thankful life brought me to Oklahoma, Oklahoma has been such a blessing in my life and I love this community.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
I LOVE how open everyone is to share their faith! Being from Ohio people didn't talk about going to church or their faith while working but I love that here in Oklahoma it's totally normal to ask someone about their church and discuss God. I also love that it's a constantly growing area. When compared to states like Ohio that have been a state for along time. Oklahoma is young and up and coming! We're going to do great things here in Oklahoma so everyone better get ready!

What is your typical work day like?
Isn't everyday a work day as a business owner? Haha. On a typical day I drop my son off at the sitter or Mother's Day out. Get to the salon 30 mins before my first appointment to get everything ready and business work done. I work behind the chair 5-9 hours a day Monday- Saturday when I'm not with a client I'm in meetings or talking to reps, or working on paper work. After I finish up for the day, I pick up my son and head home to spend time with my family.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
This probably sounds cheesy but I would say my little family. They hold me together and keep me grounded when I'm stressed out. Every evening we spend time as a family eating dinner, getting Grey ready for bed and reading a story. It seems simple but to me it's the one time of day I completely step away from my business-woman role and totally into the mom mode. Being a working momma is hard but making my family a priority is very important to me. I would be lost without them! I also don't think I could live without my GPS on my phone. I literally always get lost! Thank goodness I have maps to tell me where to go and my husband to send me pins of every place I need to be!

Raychelle Hutson, Regent Bank

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Raychelle Hutson, married for 10 years (October) and have two gorgeous (crazy) kiddos.
In addition to our full time careers, my husband and I are also Pastors at an inner city church in OKC.
I am madly in love with the performing arts. I sing, play instruments and am a bit of a clean freak (I call it my inner Monica). My life motto is: Love is an Action.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
Not originally from Oklahoma, but it has a charming way of keeping you. The people here are pretty fabulous.

What is a typical work day like?
A day in the life of me: my position requires me to constantly be creating. Most days I am researching and developing creative and meaningful ways to connect with our TOP 1-10% Clients and Prospects. Other days I am teaching Financial literacy education to elementary students, maintaining our VIP & Prospects portfolio, cultivating relationships, public speaking engagements, managing internal incentive programs, creating customer service standards and going the extra mile to ensure our people (internal or external) are well taken care of. As of late, I have been booking speaking engagements with a Non-Profit in Texas and New Mexico and travel often! I LOVE MY JOB!

What is one thing you can't live without?
This is a no-brainer. Coffee. I couldn’t (nor would I want to) live without it!

Nick James, Synergy Insurance Services

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am an Independent Insurance Agent with Synergy Insurance Services. I am based in Edmond and my office is in Midtown, OKC. I’m relatively new to Edmond. My wife (Micah James, Minister @ First Christian Church, Edmond) and I moved here in April 2015. Prior to Synergy, I was an Insurance Agent with State Farm for a little over 2 years. Prior to that, I owned and operated a political consulting company and did political work all over the US. I have 2 kids: Oden, who is 5 1/2 years old and Zoey who is 4.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
The thing I was most struck by when we moved here was the friendliness of everyone we met. People have been so open and willing to accept us into the community it has been really a fantastic transition from our life in DFW.

What is your typical work day like?
As an insurance agent, I spend most of my day working with current clients and potential customers reviewing their insurance. I spend a lot of time reviewing quotes, answering questions and helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Its definitely a job that isn’t for everyone, but I really enjoy the variety and interaction with different people.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
This is a hard one. But if I could only pick one, I’d say my iPhone. It is the portal to my brain and also my life, without it I would just be completely lost.

Jared Prince, City of Edmond

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a native Edmondite, I recently joined the City of Edmond Parks and Recreation staff as the Recreation Program Coordinator. This is my second stint with the City of Edmond but this is a new role for me in the recreation department.  I have also been the Head Coach of Swimming at Heritage Hall since 2009.  My position affords me the opportunity to connect community leaders, teachers and passionate people with the citizens of Edmond to enrich their lives and quality of life here in Edmond.  My wife, Melissa, and I were both raised here, are proud Bulldogs and are excited to be a part of Edmond’s future.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
Our families live here in Edmond as well as many lifelong friends that make the strong sense of community that our great City and State are beloved for.

What is your typical work day like?
I spend my work day organizing and creating recreation opportunities for kids and families.  Most days are spent enjoying programs that are offered here at the Multi-Activity-Center and planning for the next special event.  Providing passionate instructors with resources to help connect them with eager citizens is very rewarding.

What is the one thing you can't live without?
Outside of the cornerstone answers of God, my wife, family members and friends, our dog Dutch would top this list, though a world without a Johnnie’s #9 theta burger is hard to imagine.

Taylor York, Edmond YMCA

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am from Oklahoma City, born and raised. I attended the University of Central Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in May 2017. My passions in life are sports, traveling, spending time with my family/friends and of course, spending time with my girlfriend, Sydney.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
Oklahoma is truly home to me and no matter how far I travel, I am always grateful to come back home to Oklahoma, where everything as well as everyone feels like family. And of course, Oklahoma is home to the NBA MVP and the Sooners, so sports aren’t too shabby in the great state of Oklahoma either.

What is your typical work day like?
My typical work day is not so typical at all. In the world of Youth Sports, things are constantly changing and there is always work to be done. Working in this field, a 9-5 schedule is not something you will find too often.

What is one thing you can't live without?
I could not live without my family or my girlfriend. I love a lot of things in life but my family and girlfriend are the ones that keep me grounded at all times. Their love and support is what drives me to be the man I am each day that I wake up. You can have all of the material things in the world but there is no greater gift than receiving love from the ones that you care about most.
