Each week, EYP recognizes new members in the organization. This group is constantly growing and changing and we love bringing in new members and fresh ideas! This week, we are excited to welcome Haley Colbert, Layne Maestas and Dillon Platt.

Haley Colbert

Gateway Mortgage Group

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have been in the mortgage business for about 4 years now and originating loans for 1 ½ years.  I have a wonderful employer in Gateway Mortgage Group. I am a single mom to my 10 year old son that my world tends to revolve around, he keeps me busy!

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
Oklahoma is my home state and I love the sense of home you get anywhere in the state.  We are #OklahomaStrong

What is your typical work day like?
My typical workday is to come in to the office where I originate loans, make calls to both customers and associates. We have a great crew here and it is a wonderful work environment.

What is one thing you can't live without?
One thing that I cannot live without is my son!  If we are talking business though, it would have to be my iPhone!  How else would I keep up with all of the calls, texts and emails for work?

 Layne Maestas

Dana Murphy Campaign

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was raised in Edmond, went to college at OSU, lived in Tulsa for 10 years and then moved back to Edmond last year.  My husband is the Head Coach for Women's Tennis at UCO and we have two little boys.  I'm the Campaign Manager for Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy for her Lt. Governor race.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
My family is here and the people are so kind.

What is your typical work day like?
Being in politics means my work day is never typical :). But it's always exciting, meaningful, and long!

What is one thing you can’t live without?
Caffeine and my kids... in that order ;). JK

Dillon Platt

Textbook Brokers

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I'm from Edmond and have lived here my whole life. I graduated from University of Central Oklahoma in 2017 and recently got married in September. My biggest hobby would be working with cars restoring them and making them my own.

What do you like most about Oklahoma?
I really enjoy the seasons in Oklahoma. They're usually pretty drastic and I enjoy the changes although sometimes my allergies disagree.

What is your typical work day like?
I get to work at 8am and I get online to check the latest prices for textbooks and then add the prices to my master sheet. I also check to see if we need any more books for upcoming classes or courses. Continually to check prices for the day to make sure we are staying competitive.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
I probably couldn't live without Dr. Pepper - it's my coffee in the morning or pretty much anytime.
