Can you tell us a little bit about your industry and what your favorite aspect of work is?

It is extremely rewarding to work at a non-profit organization that literally saves lives, while providing hope and healing to those forever changed by domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. YWCA Oklahoma City operates the only certified emergency shelter in Oklahoma County, and offers a wide range of wrap around services to adult and child victims to provide a safe space to promote healing and to live a life free from violence.

The fact that the lifetime prevalence of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking is greater for Oklahoma women than in any other state, empowers me to make a difference in our community. My role at YWCA Oklahoma City often includes: writing the federal/local grants and reports; providing training throughout the state on trauma, sexual violence and prevention; media interviews; and overseeing all of our 24 hour sexual assault victim advocacy/forensic services and prevention programs. It goes without saying that this often includes late nights and weekends, however, the opportunity to work as a team to break the cycle of violence and give hope to someone who has none, is well worth it.

Spouse & number years married: Benjamin Saunier, we will be married 3 years this April.

How long have you been in the Edmond area? 4 years

What was the first job you ever had?

Besides the occasional babysitting jobs, I started officially working when I was 15 years old at McDonald's.

Favorite Hobby/pastime outside of work:

I love empowering others, serving the community and working out.  I enjoy these things so much, that I became a Trainer at Travis Garza's Fat Loss Camps, a Certified Elite Life Coach and most recently started my own business, Venture Life Coaching! Although these things are considered "work", it does not feel that way because I am passionate about helping others.

What is your favorite song?

Right now...If I have to pick one it would be "The Greatest" by Sia.

What do you like best about serving as a member of the EYP Steering Committee?

I love having the opportunity to serve my community, build relationships and am honored to work alongside other amazing young professionals to help educate and develop strong leaders. The Edmond Chamber and EYP has done so much for me personally and professionally and I want to give back and assist others be their best selves.

What is one thing you want to accomplish before you die?

I want to become an author.

What is your favorite quote?

"Whether you think you can or you can't either way you are right." ~Henry Ford
