Can you tell us a little bit about your industry and what your favorite aspect of work is? I work in the Marketing Department for the City of Edmond. In my role specifically, I help manage the city website and social media, among other things. My favorite aspect of my job is how connected I am with the community. I have gained a lot of knowledge about Edmond and municipal government in general.
How long have you been in the Edmond area? About 7 Years.
What was the first job you ever had? I started a job at Marble Slab Creamery only a week after I turned 16. I worked there through High School. I ate a lot of ice cream in that 2 and a half years!
Favorite Hobby/pastime outside of work: I have always loved volleyball but have not played in several years. Recently through EYP, I’ve had the opportunity to play again in a social league! I am really enjoying this experience with some awesome fellow EYP members. I also enjoy crafting and hanging out with my dog!
What is your favorite song? Right now I am really into alternative music. “Cold, Cold, Cold” by Cage the Elephant is one of my current favorites.
What do you like best about serving as a member of the EYP Steering Committee? Serving as a member of the EYP Steering Committee has been a great opportunity to meet and network with new people who are similar to me in age and stage of life. Involvement in the committee also pushes me outside of my comfort zone and challenges me to take on new leadership opportunities.
What is one thing you want to accomplish before you die? There are many places I would like to travel to before I die, but particularly, I’ve always wanted to visit Rome.
