Born in Oklahoma City, Patrice is one of three children. Her parents raised her to value her family and her faith, and to believe that one person can make a difference.
She attended Oklahoma Christian University, majoring in Management Information Systems, and obtained her law degree from the University of Oklahoma. She worked both high courts in Oklahoma – first the Court of Criminal Appeals and then the Supreme Court. After a ten year career working for Justice Hardy Summers, she left to join her father’s business, ACP Sheet Metal Company. She served as vice president and general counsel. While there, she and her father started a second company, Air Spiral Manufacturing, where she served as president. Patrice joined SpiritBank in 2005 to lead the bank’s efforts in Edmond. Recently, she was promoted to president of both the Edmond market and the Oklahoma City Business Resource Center.
Giving back to her community is part of her life. With her mother Claudette Dills as her example, her community involvement focuses on children. She was appointed by Governor Keating to serve as the vice-chairman of the Task Force on Early Childhood Education. She led efforts to create the Oklahoma Partnership for Early Childhood Education and served as its first chairman. She also serves as a Commissioner for the Department of Human Services and as a former member of the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation. She is currently serving her second term on the Edmond Economic Development Authority, and three years ago, was appointed its chairman. She is a member of Leadership Oklahoma Class XVII and Leadership Oklahoma City Class XIX. She has three times been a finalist for the Journal Record Woman of the Year. In 2005, she was the Trustee of the Year for the Edmond Economic Development Authority.
She is proud of her husband of 19 years, Brent, and her two ornery sons, Patrick (12) and Phillip (9). She and her family are active in Life Church. Of all things that are important, she remembers that this family is the most important and is where she can be of most value.
