Carl Tipton is President of MIDCON Data Services, LLC. MIDCON is a full service Data Management Company headquartered in Edmond which provides a complete range of storage and services from traditional records storage to a bunkered Data Center with DR facilities. Carl joined MIDCON in August ’04.

Prior to joining MIDCON, Carl was Director of Engineering at the Celestica / Lucent campus in Oklahoma City. Managing Engineers with responsibilities ranging from traditional CIO functions to multi-million dollar system configuration and test. During Carl’s 20 year career with Western Electric / AT&T / Lucent and Celestica, he held many positions including CIO, Purchasing Director, Production Manager, Engineering and Logistics Manager and Product Engineer. In addition to these positions, Carl was Champion for Celestica’s Six Sigma Black Belts, Lean Manufacturing Director and a graduate of AT&T’s Manufacturing Leadership Program at Princeton.

With Lucent and AT&T, his responsibilities included management and direction for his associated functions at the 11 international AT&T and Lucent factories that reported to the Oklahoma City factory as well as remote operations at Bell Labs in Naperville, Illinois and Murray Hill, NJ.

Carl has served for several years on the Oklahoma State University, College of Industrial Engineering and Management, Advisory Board and was a past board member of the OSU Engineering Alumni Association. He is also a past member of the Oklahoma Corporate Crime Council, Oklahoma City Peer Learning Network and was recently selected to serve on the Edmond Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors.

Carl grew up in the Sand Springs / Tulsa area. He received his Bachelor’s from OSU’s College of Industrial Engineering and Management in ’83 and his Masters from Purdue’s College of Industrial Engineering in ‘89. He and his wife Cindy, have two daughters, Lauren and Renee, are residents of Edmond, proud 3rd and 4th generation Oklahomans and OSU sports fans.
